Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA)

Parents are essentials to the success of our organization, and to the success of our players.

Parents Should:

  • Not force an unwilling child to participate in sports.
  • Remember children are involved in organized sports for their enjoyment.
  • Teach your child always to play by the rules.
  • Teach your child that hard work and an honest effort are often more important than a victory.
  • Help your child work toward skill improvement and good sportsmanship in every game. Your child will then be a winner even in defeat.
  • Do not ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or for losing a game.
  • Set a good example. Children learn best by example.
  • Applaud good plays by your team and by member of the opposing team.
  • Do not publicly question referee judgment and never their honesty.
  • Recognize the value and importance of volunteer coaches, referees and officials and give them their due respect.
  • Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from youth sporting activities.

Code of Conduct

To guide us we have the Laws of the Game, our League Playing Rules, and a Zero-Tolerance Policy that prohibits physical and verbal abuse, threats, and harassment. These rules are essential to the enjoyment of the game we love.

Communication Process

Trust the process! Coaches are communicating with your players about their strengths, areas for improvement, and expectations.
Progress takes time, and immediate results aren't always realistic. The work put in over time makes the success even more rewarding. Playing time is tied to this process.

If you need to speak with the coaching staff, please wait 24 hours after the last game of the weekend before reaching out, whether verbally or in writing. This prevents emotional responses that could escalate the situation.
Coaches will not engage in discussions outside of this window.

Any concerns should first be addressed by the player. If a parent feels the need to be involved, discussions must take place in person with the player present. This ensures clear communication.

Conversations should begin with the coach. If the issue remains unresolved, then the Director of coaching should be involved, and the director of EBUSC if necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and support in making this a great season!
